Buyer Beware ~ “Your Premier Online Nursery!”

Formerly known asMountain Edge Nursery‘, Canadian Tree Nursery has claimed to “…provide Canada wide shipping and pick up on a vast array, and unique selection of quality potted trees and plants! We specialize in rare, unique and newly bred plant varieties while also offering all of the classics!”

Further, they have claimed, “We have the benefit of sourcing all of our plants from our own exclusive growing facilities focused on field container production, Mountain Edge Nursery located in the Salmo Valley Of British Columbia and Burton Bay Nursery located above the Lower Arrow Lake in British Columbia!”  (From canadiantreenursery.com, Sept 2024.)

Hundreds of unhappy Canadian Tree Nursery customers!

So many customers have either never received their orders,  received plants that are extremely poor quality, dead or not what they ordered — that there is a Facebook page dedicated to informing and supporting people who have had bad experiences with Canadian Tree Nursery:

Canadian Tree Nursery chatCurrently 867 890 918 925 former Canadian Tree Nursery/Mountain Edge Nursery customers have joined the Facebook group created in June 2022. Join the Facebook Group before ordering from Canadian Tree Nursery to understand how this company operates.

Apparently Canadian Tree Nursery has so many upset or angry people contact them, they have to ask people to communicate ‘kindly and respectfully’ or they’ll be blocked.

Canadian Tree Nursery doesn’t provide a phone number or an email address for customers to make inquiries about their orders, so customers are forced to use their website Chat, which only responds with canned scripts. Customers have not been able to speak directly with anyone at this company. When their website was moved in October, customers lost access to login and view their orders—order records are now apparently gone!

The Canadian Tree Nursery Facebook page created in November 2022, hides the majority of comments on their posts—look at the number of comments posted and the actual comments that are viewable. The latest (March 9) post has 85 comments, but they hide 82 of them. Why do they hide comments?

The Mountain Edge Nursery Facebook page created in 2018, lists info@mountainedgenursery.com email and hasn’t posted since October 2023. For example, see the unhappy comments on the March 21, 2023 post.

Ongoing efforts have been unable to find any source of positive reviews for either Mountain Edge Nursery or Canadian Tree Nursery.

BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU:

The picture doesn’t look much better for Mountain Edge Nursery/Canadian Tree Nursery on the BBB site.

BBB states they have received 227 complaints in the past 3 years and 115 reviews, all are are posted saying pretty much the same thing! BBB has given them an F rating. Apparently a response from Mountain Edge Nursery was not sufficient to remove the listed pattern of complaints.

What is the total dollar value of undelivered orders to date?

If someone were to add up the dollar amounts of the undelivered orders in all of the reviews/complaints listed on the above sites—what would that total be? Just asking for a friend.

Who is Canadian Tree Nursery/Mountain Edge Nursery?

Mountain Edge Nursery BC RegistryUnfortunately, Jordan and Breanne Daigle, Directors of Mountain Edge Nursery Ltd. now doing business as ‘canadiantreenursery.com’ (no actual business name), have chosen not to respond directly to customers’ many requests for information and/or explanation for what is happening to their paid orders. All contact information has been removed from their website with the exception of a Chat function that is not live.

Default Judgment

In Nov 2022, Mountain Edge Nursery, Jordan Daigle and Breanne Daigle were ordered to pay nearly $32,000 to a shipping/transport company in a Default Order (Registry File #2271754, Playbook Logistics Inc. v. Mountain Edge Nursery Ltd., Jordan Kurtis Daigle and Breanne Maria Daigle), for not paying shipping/transport invoices for deliveries the company made for Mountain Edge Nursery in June and July 2022.

In the Notice of Claim (Registry File# 2271754, Playbook Logistics Inc. v. Mountain Edge Nursery Ltd., Jordan Kurtis Daigle and Breanne Maria Daigle),  the plaintiff states:
5. The Daigles caused Mountain Edge to be incorporated on or about January 28, 2022.
6. The Daigles caused Mountain Edge to be incorporated for the express purpose of committing a wrongful act—namely, to withhold payments and/or materials rightfully owed to retail customers, suppliers and others across Canada.
7. Once Mountain Edge was formed, the Daigles expressly directed it to commit wrongful acts—namely withholding payments and/or materials rightfully owed to retail customers, suppliers and others across Canada.
8. Mountain Edge is a sham—that is, a mere facade or alter ego of the Daigles.

The Daigles did not respond or dispute the Claim and the Default Order was issued. This company seems to be experiencing trouble on many fronts.
